On
the auspicious day of Baisakhi in 1978, Guru
Gobind Singh Foundation established Guru Gobind
Singh Public School with the object of imparting
education in English Medium to all students
without discrimination of caste & religion.
The begining was very humble with just 9
students for KG section. The initial abode of the
school was the Gurudwara at Shingada Talao,
Nasik. As year passed by, the foundation gave
the school the beautiful, three storeyed
building in Guru Nanak Housing Society, Mumbai
Agra Road at Nasik in 1987. It is with well
equipped science laboratory and library.
The
Foundation was gifted 12 acres of land by Shree
Bharat Co. Op. Housing Society Ltd. for the
development of the school campus with large
playground of around 4.5 acres at Khalsa Complex
at Wadala - Pathardi Road (Guru Gobind Singh
Marg). The Foundation commenced the construction
of a new ultra-modern spacious school building
at this complex in Jan. 2003. Ground floor, east
wing was completed in Jan. 2004 and Primary
section of the school has since been shifted to
this Building.
Co
- curricular activities are also given equal
importance along with academic curriculum. All
the students are encouraged and guided to
exhibit their talents in fine arts, dramatics,
sports etc. The last 15 SSC batches have passed
out with more than 90% result. For 3 years the
school posted 100% result. Most of the students
pass out with distinction, 1st class or 2nd
class. The foundation has provided four buses to
the school for commuting of the students and
absolutely minimum fare is charged for using the
bus facility.
